I Am Thankful

I was asked just before Christmas to make a couple of 'I Am Thankful' jars.

Since I'd never made one before, I had never really seen one I headed to the usual place for some inspiration. Actually I wasn't blown away with what I found.
In my mind if you are having something to sit on your self for a year and record all your lovely memories and things your are Thankful for then you want it to be a lovely thing! So I cracked on.

I made two for Christmas gifts for my lovely friends Debbie and Del and then the 2 that was ordered.

Of course I then wanted one for myself.

My coffee jars are mainly sourced from Jo at work so as a little thank you I made her one last weekend. It's sat on her desk at work for a couple of days and now I have an order for 2 more and potentially another 10. Here is the latest one made for Jo.

They have all been slightly different and with each one I just love them more and more. If you have an empty jar and a few bits and bobs and a couple of hours then have a go at making your very own memory jar.

Dies used for this project include a Tattered Lace die for the band round the jar and Tonic dies for the tags and alphabets, the flower is a Sizzix bigz die. The lush effect on the flower comes from the Indigo Blue pixi powders.

Crazy Shapes Carousel Crochet Blanket

I love a ‘Crochet Along’. I found this batik style yarn and fell in love with it. I was swayed into this pattern when at the knitting and stitching show with Susan Speece. She has a good eye and thought it was very me so I took the plunge. Despite the varied shapes they all fit together very well. I love the riot of colours and shapes in this blanket. Thanks Susan for twisting my arm!

Vintage Crochet Poncho

I love to crochet and I found this lovely vintage poncho pattern from Wonky Zebra, so thought I'd use up some of the yarn left over from other projects! I have to say getting to grips with a vintage pattern was a bit of a challenge at first and I've been crocheting all my life. Its a good job patterns have simplified over the years, it did make me wonder how folks are still crocheting when patterns were made so confusing! Anyway I'm so glad I persevered and once I understood the pattern it crocheted up quite quickly and
I now have a lovely poncho. The yarn is all Stylecraft, so washes and wears really well. Thanks Wonky Zebra.

Another Jar!

Orders for my I Am Thankful jars are just coming in thick and fast. Here is another one must finished for Pastor Penny, our Bishops wife...
